THE ONE-RAISER: ACCIDENTAL OVERDOSE

This night we will speak about the reality of accidental overdose; providing prevention, education as well as a viable means of life-saving intervention through the Naloxone training, Q&A panel, and introduction of community partners.  Tickets   https://theoneraiser.eventbrite.com

The MOTHERS. The ADVOCATES.

Amiee Dunkle had a beautiful boy. Ben died from complications following an accidental overdose at the age of 20.  He was with three people at the time, but they did not have naloxone nor had they been trained to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose. Aimee founded The Solace Foundation of OC to reduce the number of opioid related deaths by expanding access to this life saving drug. https://www.solacefoundationofoc.org/

Jodi Barber lost her beautiful boy, Jarrod in 2010. He was 19-years-old. He and three of his close friends died that year from accidental prescription drug overdoses. Jodi used her pain as her power and became an advocate. She and Christine Wood produced a short documentary called Overtaken, and recently released Overtaken 2. Her original film Behind the Orange Curtain has long been a resource in Southern California. https://www.ocregister.com/2018/11/08/california-has-the-power-to-reverse-opioid-overdose-but-will-it-take-action/
