Stacia Stamas embodies all that One Recovery stands for. Her willingness and generosity of spirit are evident to all who meet her.

Stacia was born and raised in Orange County. Her parents divorced when she was quite young, and Stacia stepped in to help raise her two younger sisters. Stacia started her own family very early in her life as well, so parenting and the immense responsibility that goes with it is something she is well versed in.

Stacia stated “I always knew that I wanted to work with adolescents as a teacher or a therapist”. The beauty of that statement is that through hard work and commitment both were realized. What better example can we have than a girl with dreams…who made them come true.

Stacia put herself through school to become a therapist while she continued her decade-long career in academia. At the age of 40, Stacia graduated from Pepperdine as an MFT, Marriage and Family Therapist and PCC Intern. She achieved all of this while raising her children as a single parent who are now 22 and 14 years old.

Stacia’s close contact with teens and their loved ones on campus as well as her own personal history give her a multidimensional view into the causes and conditions that affect our youth. As part of her role in leading our Parent Group, Stacia is committed to sourcing speakers who are experts in the healing and mental health fields. She will also guide the open sharing amongst parents and provide opportunity for answers to very difficult questions. Parents will be offered tools, resources and solutions.

This group is a place to feel supported and to support others.

“One Recovery is everything I believe in. It is acceptance and it is connectedness…we will accept all and help each to discover the unique greatness within.”
